What’s Included in a Palya Art Tour?

All tours include Palya Art flights, 4WD transport, food, accommodation and logistics. Any entry fees are also covered.

Helen Read’s work with Indigenous artists and Art Centres over the last 27 years provides professional and expert insight. Generous advice on art and art collecting is offered when requested.

A Palya Art Tour is over 3 days, 2 nights.


Tour routes vary every time. Palya Art combines Art Centre and artist availability for visits and current logistics with clients requests.

We fly relatively low over beautiful areas, along isolated coastlines and over long-running desert sand dunes. Aerial routes may fly us over the pristine wetlands of Arnhem Land or Kimberley water chased chasms. Every flight to remote Indigenous communities is different.

All tours are conducted with the highest respect for Aboriginal law, custom, and privacy.

Tours depart from and return to Darwin or Alice Spring.

Tour Groups

There is a minimum of 5 and maximum of 7 people on each art tour. Passengers must be 16 years or older. There is no upper age limit.

Aircraft and Transport

Aircraft are professionally maintained and crewed aeroplanes. On the ground, 4WD vehicles, hire cars, private cars* and community vehicles are used for transport.


A maximum of 10kgs in a soft bag is allowable per person. A list of what to bring is included in the information pack.


Accommodation consists of hotels, motels, resorts, cattle stations, missions and Indigenous community lodging. Though sometimes accommodation is basic in nature, Palya Art Tours makes sure sleeping arrangements are safe and clean


All meals and refreshments are provided by Palya Art Tours. Special dietary requirements are catered for upon request.


$6,600.00    AUD (Australian Dollars) each person for three days.
