The minimum number travelling is five and maximum seven. 

Prices set out in this Guide are in Australian dollars and are subject to withdrawal or change without notice. 

As Palya Art Tours is conducted with the highest respect for Indigenous people’s law, customs and privacy, some variation in schedules may apply at short notice. 

Deposits

For confirmation, a deposit of 30% secures your reservation i.e. AUD$2,640.00
Balance of payment AUD$6,160.00 is required 7 days prior to travel.

Cancellation and Refunds

A cancellation fee of 50% applies to any cancellation less than 30 days prior to departure date. In the event that Palya Art Tours should cancel the full monies deposited would be returned. 
No refund will be made available to non-utilized services on tour.

Travel Insurance

It is strongly recommended that each passenger takes out comprehensive travel insurance prior to travel to cover for health, baggage and personal effects and loss of monies through cancellation. Also for additional expenses incurred in case of illness or personal liability.

Please Note

Road vehicles in and out of the communities are often privately owned and therefore not covered by private or commercial insurances and so travel is entirely at the risk of Palya Art Tours’ passenger. Whilst Palya Art Tours endeavours to be safe, please note that travel in local and non-commercial vehicles is at each individual persons own risk. Palya Art Tours takes no responsibility for accidents or loss.

Departures

From Darwin, Alice Springs or Broome. Exactly where we meet and when is clearly outlined prior to departure. Usually we meet the day before to go over details. 

Baggage is limited to 8kgs unless otherwise advised. Soft bags only please to fit into the aircraft easily.

The draft itinerary is sent beforehand with firmer details given nearer departure and firmer again just prior to departure allowing for recent updates in the communities.

Arrival and Departure Times

Detailed departure and arrival times, along with contact details at destinations, will be provided closer to departure date. Most areas have mobile phone.

Accommodation

Accommodation consists of Hotels, motels, resorts, cattle stations, missions and Indigenous community council accommodation. Though sometimes accommodation is sparse in nature, Palya Art Tours ensures sleeping arrangements are safe and clean.

Meals

All meals and drinks are catered for bar alcohol, which is mostly banned in remote area communities. Food is as fresh, healthy and as varied as possible and often brought with us plus catering for others. Please advise Palya Art Tours in advance if you have any special dietary requirements.

Transport

Aircraft are twin-engine aircraft unless otherwise specified, professionally maintained and crewed. Maps, in-flight snacks and lots of water are always available.

Responsibility

All bookings for journeys are accepted subject to the conditions of carriage and other conditions imposed by suppliers and subcontractors to Palya Art Tours.

Please note that Palya Art’s Terms and Conditions Form must be understood, accepted and signed before travel can commence. 

In producing this information, Palya Art Tours has sought to ensure that the information supplied is correct. 

Whilst we endeavour to make the trips as rewarding and safe as possible, no responsibility or liability can be accepted by Palya Art Tours for any accident, delay, mis-description, missed connection, cancellation, loss, injury or damage for service provided therein.

TRAVEL TERMS & CONDITIONS

These are the Terms and Conditions under which Palya Art Tours agrees to organise and conduct tours to Indigenous communities across the North West of Australia and under which the client agrees to undertake a tour.

The finalisation of the itinerary for the tour shall be the responsibility of Palya Art Tours. Palya Art Tours will provide the client with full details of the proposed itinerary, including departure and arrival times for each sector of the tour and contact numbers where available. Palya Art Tours reserves the right to cancel, abandon, alter, amend or modify the itinerary of the tour as becomes necessary due to community requirements, weather conditions, road or other operational conditions prevailing before the commencement of, or during the conduct of, the tour.

Any variation to the notified itinerary shall be at the sole discretion of Palya Art Tours. If the client requests a variation to the notified itinerary and Palya Art Tours conducts the tour according to the requested variation then the client shall pay all additional costs of the varied itinerary. Palya Art Tours will notify the client of the additional costs which will become payable immediately on completion of the tour. The client shall be responsible for any personal expenses incurred as a result of any delay, alteration or curtailment of the notified itinerary due to mechanical defects, weather conditions or any other cause. Palya Art Tours assumes no responsibility for making client connections with other transport providers.

Palya Art Tours ensures safe and clean accommodation, however it is often of a sparse nature in the communities.

The price payable by the client for travel on the tour will be notified to the client by Palya Art Tours. The tour price shall be expressed as a cost per person and will include the full cost of all air flights undertaken by Palya Art Tours, accommodation costs for each night of the duration of the notified itinerary, all ground transfers, costs of community permit entry fees, if any, and all meal costs. The price does not include alcohol.

The client shall pay Palya Art Tours a deposit of 30% of the notified price to secure the booking reservation. The remainder of the tour price shall be payable to Palya Art Tours at least 7 days prior to the commencement of the tour.

If the client notifies Palya Art Tours of their inability to undertake the tour less than 30 days prior to the commencent of the tour, Palya Art Tours shall be entitled to retain from the client a sum equal to 50% of the tour price. The balance of any money paid shall be re-paid to the client. The client will not be entitled to any refund for services which are not utilised by him or her during the tour. If for any reason Palya Art Tours should cancel the tour, all monies would be repaid.

Palya Art Tours shall not be responsible for any costs or damage arising from the loss or damage to the client’s personal effects or baggage which are taken on the tour. Palya Art Tours shall not be responsible for any costs or loss arising from injury, illness or sickness of the client, including any costs arising from the necessity of the client to leave the tour because of ill health, or injury caused by accident. The client accepts full responsibility for all loss occurring to his or her personal property during the tour and acknowledges that he or she has had the opportunity to take out a comprehensive travel insurance policy to cover the contingency of such losses and or injuries.

Palya Art Tours shall have absolute discretion to refuse to carry a passenger on the tour or any sector of the tour if the conduct or behaviour of the client is deemed to be offensive, inappropriate or in any way likely to endanger the safety of, or well being of, other clients, persons or Palya Art Tours on the tour.

Palya Art Tours charters aircraft which are supplied by registered carriers and holders of Air Operators Certificates under the Civil Aviation Act 1988. The aircraft provider is the carrier for the purposes of the Civil Aviation (Carriers Liability) Act 1958. The liability of the carrier under the Civil Aviation (Carriers Liability) Act 1958 is limited to $AUD500,000.
