Flying across Arnhem Land, Kimberley & Central Australia, you are invited to fly with Helen over the pristine wetlands of Arnhem Land, Stone Country around Gunbalanya, estuary lands adjacent to the Timor Sea, Central Australian deserts and Kimberley’s rocky escarpments.

Individual travellers are welcome to contact Helen to discuss combined art tours. Fellow travellers arrive from all walks of life; people come in groups or individually, from Australia and all over the world. Strong friendships are often made and sometimes lives are changed with on-going interactions, including employment within the communities.

Special visiting permits, catering, accommodation, flights, local guiding, supplies and ground transportation is arranged, where possible, by Palya Art. All visits are conducted through First Nations run entities, artists’ owned community Art Centres or community councils.

Safety is taken seriously and extensive pre-planning is undertaken for your comprehensive immersion into Australian First People’s art and culture. Permits to enter Indigenous people’s lands are requested but never expected as a given; at times itineraries need to alter according to community etiquette and unexpected cultural law matters.

There are places for up to seven travellers on each journey. We fly in twin engine aircraft professionally crewed. The small number touring provides the opportunity and time to speak with people individually on the ground. We can also all fit into one ‘Troopie’ (4WD), and take care to have a low impact on often already stretched resources.

Palya Art Tours aim is always to accommodate a Win-Win, Win-Win meeting between artists and visitors. Win for the artists, community Art Centres, visitors and for Palya Art Tours so as to continue.
