Alma Webou is Yulparitja, a desert woman who moved to the saltwater country when she came out of the desert in the late 60’s. She paints her desert country with a saltwater palette as seen in this beautiful, bold painting ‘Pinkalakara’. The work was created in 2006 using polymer acrylic paint on linen. Measuring 1110 x 1675 mm, Alma Webou states to her representative, Short Street Gallery, “Pinkalakara is the place I was born and grew up; this is my mother’s country.
