This painting is part of an area that is set aside for men’s Law and the associated ceremonies. Sam is one of the senior custodians. Women are not permitted to visit this place when these Law activities are being held. The painting shows a claypan (Warran) surrounded by sand hills where for countless generations men have congregated. The artist spent his early years here, by these rockholes sacred to the rainbow Serpent.
